We love the program that you guys put together. It was awesome the talent that was displayed. I am surprised that my daughter, who is very shy, performed at the concert. I love how her teacher brought her out of her shell in such a short amount of time. I am so sorry we have to discontinue when we move out of state. She is very interested in continuing lessons. —Shawn W.
I love how my children have taken to piano since we started at the school. I appreciate the open dialogue I have with the director and teachers – who are very receptive to parent’s suggestions and concerns. In addition, it has been important for me that the teachers adapt to the individual learning style of the student. For these reasons, I have recommended Chestnut Hill Music Academy to my friends. —Shuchi R.
We have had a great experience working with Marie as our Voice teacher. She is a very methodical instructor who works with the student on both the theory and practical aspects of singing. She takes the students interest in mind with the choice of songs and has greatly improved my daughter’s skill and interest in singing for the past two years. You can tell that Marie truly enjoys what she does.
My daughter also had the opportunity to perform in a band which she loved. This is another great feature of Chestnut Hill Music Academy. We greatly appreciate all the quarterly recitals that really helps students showcase their talents. —Sherita B.
CHMA was able to accommodate my busy schedule for a weekly instruction day and time. My teacher makes the instruction fun and productive each week. I love that you offer lessons on a variety of instruments.in case I get really musically ambitious. All good. —Bill M.
Marie has not only taught my daughter great technique, but inspired her to want to sing better…She even likes to practice! After every lesson, Marie takes the time to brief me about what they worked on and how she’s progressing. I know what to listen for during practice time and how to help her in between lessons. It’s made all the difference.
The make-up policy is great. No stressing over crazy schedules as the holidays approach or school begins. I can just arrange a make up lesson with with our teacher or someone else at the school…on a completely different instrument! —Meghan C.
Mark is a great teacher, and open to my ideas and songs that I want to learn.” —Aidan L., student
CHMA is a wonderful organization. Mickey Leone’s dedication and drive to bring music to our youth in a fun and exciting way is evident from the first time you meet him. Moreover, the music teachers there are all kind, talented musicians who clearly want to share their skills with the kids. —Sue & Terry L.
Our son’s experience with CHMA has really enriched his life – the teachers inspire the students in a fun, positive way and our son has not only gained music ability but overall confidence in himself. The organization is extremely well-run and offers other avenues of music support like concerts and band involvement. In short, CHMA really knows how to teach music, from beginners through accomplished musicians. Lessons are personal and the teachers are committed to finding what works for each particular student at any given time. One week our son is focusing hard on technique, the next he may be letting loose and belting it out with his teacher. We are lucky to be part of CHMA! —Kristyn V.
Last spring, my fourteen year-old daughter began taking voice/piano lessons with Marie. Marie has really helped my daughter to strengthen her singing voice and taught her to play popular songs on the piano in a very short time. My daughter enjoys playing for us at home and she has even performed in CHMA recitals. I’ve noticed that the music lessons have played an important role in helping my daughter gain more confidence and display a more positive self-image. We’re so glad we found CHMA! —Andrea D.
Chestnut Hill Music Academy is a well-run music training program that our family truly values. Our 10 year old son Tyler takes drum lessons and participates in the Rock Band training program. His fundamental drum skills have developed greatly over the past year from the one-on-one training he receives each week. His lessons are thorough but not too demanding, and his drum teacher Mark is a skilled, patient, and supportive instructor. By participating in the Rock Band sessions, Tyler gets to play drums in a real band with other students his age, while under the guidance and direction of a trained studio/performing musician. The Rock Band not only encourages strong performance skills, but also promotes cooperation, listening skills, and the understanding of how to participate in a group – all while having a blast! The band sessions culminate in a live performance, a great chance to show off their hard-earned skills. We feel really lucky to have Mickey and his excellent staff so close to home, and appreciate all of the affordable lessons that are offered. —Jeff and Maggie D.
Our son Jack has always had a strong interest in music. He attended CHMA director Mickey Leone’s Makin’ Music Program when he was a baby and progressed through the years to eventually take guitar and voice lessons. He has grown tremendously in both areas, and CHMA has provided a great environment for Jack to learn, grow, challenge himself, and find his voice as a performer. From shaking eggs as a baby to being a frontman for a band, CHMA has played a huge role in his development as a musician and performer. —Marella T.
